ELDERS

Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His body (Colossians 1:181 Peter 5:4). Under the guidance of His word by the power of the Holy Spirit, the leadership of Valley Community Church is vested in elders to shepherd, teach, and govern our community (Acts 20:28Hebrews 13:17). The qualifications for elders are listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7Titus 1:5-10, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.

God used Valley Community Church to bring my wife, Tiffany, and I to faith over 25 years ago. We were blessed to raise our children – Ryan, Tate, and Hope – in our church. I’ve served as an usher, deacon, coach, and youth leader. God redeemed part of my younger years by also calling me to lead a youth baseball and softball ministry, STRETCH. He’s been nudging me towards a new season of ministry with a desire to serve the church more directly and actively. I’m humbled and excited to be an elder and hope to serve and love well, by grace through faith, for His glory.

Noah Chiu

Hello! Born and raised in Boulder County, Colorado, I now live in Livermore. Before pastoring, I worked as a plumber's apprentice (which might explain something of my focus on us being apprentices of Jesus). My wife and I moved to the Tri-valley in October of 2009 to join the pastoral team of VCC. I became the lead pastor in 2015. My wife (Marla) and I have three kids: a 9-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old girl. I am a bit of a book nerd, so talk of Tolkien, Lewis, Dostoevsky, Eliot, O'Connor, Peterson and others are likely to happen at some point! In my opinion, theology should have some poetry to it. Jesus is beautiful to me. He is my great joy and only hope.

Peter Clark

A Bay Area native, I love serving at VCC! Married to the love of my life, Jennifer for 29 years, we met while I was serving on staff with Cru at Sacramento State.  A graduate of UC Santa Barbara and Western Seminary, I have served in a variety of pastoral roles before landing at VCC in 2022. Jennifer and I have a college aged son Zach, who attends Vanguard University, and a Red Fox Labrador named Ruby. Together we enjoy hiking, strolling along the beach and the San Francisco Giants.

Bryan Hardwick

I’ve been part of the VCC family since 2019. I was born and raised in the Bay Area. Met the love of my life, Christi, at Cal Poly, SLO and we’ve been married for over 35 years. God has blessed us with two sons and two daughters. I have served in a pastoral role in several churches prior to joining VCC and Christi has served in VCC’s Disabilities Ministry. It is a privilege and an honor to serve the saints here at VCC. My prayer is that I would be used by God, in whatever capacity, to shepherd His blood-bought saints into a rich and joyful relationship with their Lord and Savior for the glory of God and the expansion of His kingdom.

George Stevenson

My wife Allison and I have been blessed to be at VCC for over 20 years. We’ve raised our four children here, and I am excited to be joining the Elder board. At VCC I have served in student ministries and I play bass guitar on the worship team (I’m the Band Dad). I am an orthopaedic surgeon and run my own practice here in Pleasanton, and Allison works as a nurse. We are thankful for VCC and the support it has been to our family. I fully believe God sustains VCC because of the commitment to put Jesus Christ first.

I have a career in finance and in my free time enjoy exploring the outdoors, soccer, history, and reading.
