Partnering with Parents
We believe that parents are the most powerful force in their kids' spiritual development, for better or worse, and therefore we inspire and equip parents to own this responsibility with intentionality and confidence. Our mission at VCC is to make, mature, and mobilize apprentices of Jesus, and that begins with our kids! Here are resources and training opportunities for growing as a flourishing family team that apprentices Jesus together.
The Family Discipleship Class
Wherever you are as a family, you CAN make simple changes to lead your family into flourishing. Join Pastor Dane and Brittany Olney for six weeks to discuss Matt Chandler's book Family Discipleship, encourage one another in the crazy, and master a simple framework that will help you become a more intentional parent. The class takes place each fall on Monday nights at 8PM email Pastor Dane Olney for more information.
The VCC Family Worship App
We developed this app in-house because we were frustrated that it didn't exist! Family Worship involves reading, singing, and praying together on a regular basis. It is much simpler than it sounds, and this app gives you everything you need to introduce worship into your home without the anxiety about doing it "right." Marriage
Marriage was God's idea, and was created to be a mysterious and powerful symbol of Jesus' love for the Church. We believe that building a shared life together through the ups and downs of life is more fruitful and satisfying than demanding your partner meet your needs 'or else.' The church and our children are more powerful when marriages are strong, so we invest in helping couples heal and flourish.
Premarital
We use the renowned SYMBIS ("Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts") assessment tool from Les & Leslie Parrott. You will meet with a trained facilitator for fun, safe, and confidential conversations that cover all of the relevant topics in four sessions. UPCOMING EVENTS
Moms of teens, this life can be so busy and lonely that we forget God gives us community! Join other moms each month on the third Wednesday, 7pm-9pm, as we pray for one another and for our kids. Email lilian@vc.church if you have any questions or if you'd like to join.
