BUILDING FOR FAMILY

Building for Family is our project to optimize the VCC campus, starting with Phase I which includes the Children’s & Disability Ministry wing and the expansion of the Gathering Place. We pray that once this is complete we can continue on to Phase II which will include revamping the Student Ministry area.

PHASE I - COMPLETED

CHILDREN’S & DISABILITY

VCC Kids and the Disability Ministry is committed to providing a welcoming and safe space where everyone can come to learn God’s word and grow to know and love Jesus.  

Plans Include:

  • New VCC Kids & Disability Ministry building (4,800 sq. ft) to replace the existing portables.

  • Indoor check-in and welcome area for parents to securely drop-off their kids.

  • Dedicated environment, functionally designed for our students with special needs.

  • Four dedicated, easily accessible, ADA compliant elementary school and disability restrooms.

  • Playgrounds for toddlers, pre-school, and elementary next to the grassy area of the Gathering Place to create a park-like ambiance.


PHASE II - To Be Revisioned and Funded

STUDENT MINISTRY

Refuge & Anchored Student Ministries exists to foster a warm and welcoming community of belonging, where students experience being accepted, loved, and known by finding refuge in Jesus. 

Plans Include:

  • Upgraded student meeting space including interior, flooring and restrooms.

  • Expanded and remodeled kitchen with service windows to the Gathering Place and Student Center to serve family meals.

  • New outdoor student patio and hangout area next to Amador High School parking lot.

  • Updated Student Ministries office area for students to hangout and connect with staff.

  • New Indoor Cafe and seating to create an environment for relationship building.

GATHERING PLACE

The Gathering Place will be an inviting, hospitality focused, multi-purpose space that can be used for connecting with one another before and after church as well as special events throughout the year. 

Plans Include:

  • Welcoming entry pergola and walkway from parking structure.

  • Expanded Gathering Place space including a grassy picnic area.

  • Remodeled main restrooms.

  • New fencing around the space to provide a safe place for children to play and peace of mind for their parents.
